In response to COVID-19, this Executive Education course has been developed according to our emergency teaching protocol framework which includes a blend of synchronous (online face to face) and asynchronous (in your own time) teaching methods.
The New Manager course at the UCT GSB is designed to equip first-time managers, or experienced managers wanting an update, with practical managerial skills and business acumen that can be implemented immediately in the workplace.
The challenges of the work environment in 2020 and practical strategies to address them will be specifically addressed.

The course covers core business fundamentals and provides the self-knowledge and personal growth essential for building the leadership capability to manage, lead and motivate a team with confidence. We will include a focus on managing and leading remotely and on working in a fast-changing environment. One of the fundamentals of the course is to enable managers to "speak the language of leadership." A post-course assignment is designed to help delegates entrench what they learn by applying that in the workplace, providing an opportunity to add value back to their organisations.
The UCT GSB is a globally-ranked business school with a world-class reputation and is one of less than 100 business schools in the world to be triple-crown accredited.
It is an immersive experience of intense study, blending theory and practice to allow participants to assimilate what they learn.
