Curriculum Overview
Module 1: Introduction to AI
Learning Outcome 1: Gain a clear grasp of foundational AI concepts–including the transformative impact on business models, job markets, and competitive landscapes (with a focus on African socio-economic challenges).
Learning Outcome 2: Develop the ability to differentiate realistic AI applications from hype, while understanding core AI technologies and addressing common fears.
Module 2: Leadership in the AI Era
Learning Outcome 1: Articulate a clear AI vision that aligns with overall business strategy and addresses local/regional socio-economic realities.
Learning Outcome 2: Develop leadership strategies that foster collaboration, innovation, and proactive change management in the face of AI-driven workforce and organizational shifts.
Module 3: Responsible AI & Ethics
Learning Outcome 1: Establish ethical guidelines for AI development, ensuring fairness, accountability, and inclusivity in technology adoption.
Learning Outcome 2: Enhance the ability to identify and mitigate data and algorithmic biases, while balancing commercial objectives with social responsibility.
Module 4: Governance, Risk Management & Compliance (GRC) in AI
Learning Outcome 1: Create a tailored governance framework that addresses ethical oversight, accountability, and transparency in AI implementations.
Learning Outcome 2: Develop a comprehensive risk assessment protocol to categorize and mitigate AI-related risks, including technical, social, and regulatory challenges.
Module 5: Data Strategy & IP Protection for AI
Learning Outcome 1: Establish a clear data governance and lifecycle management plan that covers collection, storage, usage, and intellectual property protection.
Learning Outcome 2: Identify key data sources and opportunities for leveraging data-driven insights while ensuring cybersecurity and compliance with privacy regulations.
Module 6: AI Applications, Implementations, and Group Presentations
Based on the session focus, the following are two plausible learning outcomes.
Learning Outcome 1: Demonstrate the ability to effectively integrate AI applications into existing business processes and systems.
Learning Outcome 2: Critically assess and present AI implementation strategies that emphasize change management and stakeholder engagement.
