The UCT GSB's Breakwater Campus is situated in the heart of Cape Town's most popular tourist attraction, the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Centrally located and easily accessed, the UCT GSB is just 1.5km away from the central business district and 20 minutes from Cape Town International Airport.

The campus is equipped with modern lecture theatres and syndicate rooms for group study, as well as a library and restaurants.

BREAKWATER CAMPUS SERVICES

The UCT GSB library has 7 000+ books and subscribes to all major local business and financial newspapers and journals, as well as a selection of general interest publications and major foreign business and financial journals. In addition, the library has many online resources including business and financial online databases. GSB students have access to any library at UCT, and material from libraries elsewhere in South Africa.

The Protea Breakwater Lodge, on the GSB campus features 18 conference venues, four public lounges, gym, SPA, business centre, 24-hour secure parking with 250 parking bays, and offers airport transfers and laundry service.

The hotel boasts 191 modern environmentally conscious rooms with standard rooms, business suites and family units. All rooms are equipped with minibar fridge, free uncapped WIFI, tea/coffee facilities, air-conditioning, LCD flat screen TV, telephone and laptop-friendly electronic safes.
Stonebreakers Restaurant offers a la carte and buffet menus daily in a relaxed atmosphere with magnificent views of both the V&A Waterfront and Table Mountain. A selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages is available from the full-service bar.

The UCT GSB works with the UCT Disability Service to remove any physical, policy, information and attitude barriers that might prevent students and staff from fulfilling their potential.

Accessibility services include:

  • Advocacy and advice on any issues related to disability.
  • Consultative and counselling support for students and staff with disabilities.
  • Advising on academic adjustments and reasonable accommodations and providing specific services
  • Resource Centre: literature and material relating to disability studies and disability research available to all staff and students. Material may be taken out on loan.
  • Physical access: The university plans to improve its accessibility to people with disabilities. Already many buildings are fitted with ramps, some toilets are adapted for people with disabilities and lifts serve many of the buildings.
  • Text conversion and assistive technology, including text conversion into Braille, electronic format, voice recording.
  • Providing technical assistance.
