Susan de Witt is the Outcomes-Based Contracting Lead at the Bertha Centre.
She is part of the team working closely with National Treasury in South Africa to understand the regulatory implications of these instruments as well as, with specific provincial and municipal line departments to design outcomes based funds and single transaction models. These projects are in the areas of early childhood development, after school care, workforce development, job creation and health. She is also currently heading up the secretariat of the National Task Force on Impact Investing.
Prior to this she worked with the Social Investment and Finance Team in the UK Cabinet Office engaging with Social Impact Bonds specifically and social investment policy more broadly. She has worked as a veterinary surgeon in both the public and private sector, in South Africa and abroad and holds an MBA from the UCT Graduate School of Business and a BVSc from the University of Pretoria.
