Dr Cécile Feront


Cécile is a senior lecturer at UCT's Graduate School of Business, teaching and researching how individuals, organisations and institutions work to promote a more just, sustainable, and inclusive socio-economic system. She is passionate about how individuals engage with change toward sustainability, and how organisations embed environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into their core strategy and investment decisions. She also teaches qualitative research methods and supervises students. Cécile has gained broad experience in strategy, marketing and business development through her past roles, including as co-founder and Vice President of Strategy for Reef Software and as a Director for Mulilo Renewable Energy. Cécile is a contributor to the Embedding Project and a research fellow at the Centre for Sustainability Transitions (Stellenbosch University). She holds a PhD in Business administration from UCT's Graduate School of Business, a Masters from Sciences Po (Paris) specialising in economics and finance, as well as an MPhil in Sustainable Development from Stellenbosch University.
