Buhle Goslar is an award winning  technology operating executive with deep expertise in inclusive finance. 

To date, her work has covered an array of markets in Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and Asia, in sectors spanning; financial services, technology, retail, and tourism. Buhle is a certified retail banker, experienced board director and avid researcher. Her research interests include; regulation of inclusive data driven financial services, gender responsive financial product design, online entrepreneurship in Africa, financial justice, customer protection and empowerment. 
Buhle holds a BCom Marketing Degree from UNISA and an Executive MBA from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town. She has also completed post graduate management programmes in Inclusive Finance, Digital Finance and Social Impact at Harvard Business School, TUFTS Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy and Oxford Saïd Business School, respectively.

Ralph Mapita

PRESIDENT AND CEO OF MTN GROUP

Ralph Mupita is the President and CEO of MTN Group, a position he has held since the 1st September 2020, having recently served as the MTN Group’s Chief Financial Officer since April 2017. Prior to joining MTN, Ralph served as the Chief Executive Officer for Old Mutual Emerging Markets, providing financial service solutions to individuals and corporates across 19 countries in Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Under his leadership, the Insurance Group’s Emerging Market business serviced over 19 million customers and had R1 trillion of assets under management. Ralph is a seasoned business leader with experience in engineering, construction, financial services, and telecommunications. Since joining MTN, Ralph has played a pivotal role in the strengthening the Group’s financial position, strategy pivot, and successful listing on the Nigerian and Ghanaian Stock Exchanges.

Ralph serves as a Non-Executive Director on several MTN subsidiary Board and the Rand Merchant Investment Holdings (RMI). He also serves as an executive Board member of the International Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Harvard Business School Africa Advisory Board. Ralph is a Commissioner on the United Nations Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development and a Champion of the World Economic Forum EDISON Alliance.

Ralph holds an MBA and BSc Engineering Hons degree from University of Cape Town and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School General Management Programme. Ralph is passionate about the African continent and the role that mobile operators can play in driving sustainable digital and financial inclusion through fit-for-purpose solutions.

With nearly two decades of experience within management and digital consulting across diverse disciplines, Aidan has gained expertise in digital transformation, business model design, investment strategy, operation process design, product and pricing, innovation, and trends in the technology, media and sports sectors.

Hakeem Belo-Osagie

A successful entrepreneur and businessman, Hakeem Belo-Osagie has been a key player in the Nigerian economy for over three decades through his participation and development of several businesses in the private sector, particularly in energy, finance and telecommunications. He chairs several boards in Nigeria and is an Expert Global Advisor and is a member of the International Advisory Group of Norwegian energy company, Equinor, the global board of advisors for the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), and the International Advisory Council of the Brookings Institute.

An advocate for higher education, he has been a member of the Harvard Business School (HBS) community for many years, serving as a member of the Harvard University Global Advisory Board and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Harvard’s Centre for African Studies. Hakeem holds a PPE from Oxford University as well as a law degree from Cambridge University and an MBA from HBS.

Paul Edwards

Paul Edwards has spent most of his life building businesses in Africa and Asia. He is particularly interested in addressing communication and financial inclusivity, the role of fintechs in shaping the future of the banking sector and the role of central banks in the era of digital banking.

His career has mainly been in the digital domain and most digital technologies fall within his expertise. These include banking systems, electronic payments, satellite television, satellite communications, cellular communications, internet and print media. He has led several highly successful businesses in Africa and Asia and built the largest electronic payments group in Africa and the Middle East.

He is a past member of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government Advisory Board and EDS European Advisory Board; a past advisor to the University of Boston's African Presidential Archive and Research Centre and a current member of the Advisory Board of the UCT GSB.
