The Health Innovators Review
We recognise that there already exists many innovative healthcare solutions on our continent and the Inclusive Healthcare Innovation initiative wants to acknowledge the innovators behind the solutions.
To do so, we compiled this publication - The Health Innovators Review - featuring leading innovators from the African continent – health workers, entrepreneurs, organisations (for profit, not-for-profit, government) - who have added value to health systems through successfully implementing solutions.
Through this publication we hope to:
- Advance best-practice solutions across different contexts and sectors.
- Profile and acknowledge the individuals/organisations, who are positively impacting health systems and/or healthcare delivery.
- Inspire and encourage all Africans to uncover their own inherent ability to bring about meaningful change in healthcare.
For The Health Innovators Review we asked communities and practitioners to nominate their projects/programmes. Nominations were then reviewed by an international, expert panel and the leading projects are those featured in the publication. Further to this, the selected projects representatives were also invited to attend and present at our Inclusive Healthcare Innovation Summit which was held at the CTICC in January 2014, and which was also attended by the Minister of Health, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi.
