A business school cannot live outside its economic environment and has to take up its own societal responsibility. The GSB is committed to transformation and equality in all its aspects. Initiatives like the Raymond Ackerman Academy of Entrepreneurial Development, the Social Innovation Speaker Series as well as student activities like the Net Impact Chapter, all contribute to the School’s societal relevance.
The GSB has recently established the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship, recognising the vital role that that social innovation and inclusive models of business have to play in the health and development of an emerging economy. The Bertha Centre is currently advertising MBA and PhD scholarship opportunities for students who are working on innovative and market-based solutions to social and environmental challenges in emerging markets, in particular in Africa.
