Full colour thinking

Inspiring. Intelligent. Curious. Innovative. Ethical. Professional.

Isn’t this what the world wants from leaders today?

At the UCT Graduate School of Business we recognise that as many of the old social and business structures and ways of thinking are breaking down, we stand at a unique point in human history with exciting possibilities for individuals and organisations.

Rated as the Best Business School in Africa by its global peers at the Eduniversal World Convention in 2010, the GSB is a school on the move with a vibrant and pioneering spirit.

We believe that "business as usual" is no longer the way to achieve sustainable success – managers need an expanded skill set that creates new models of business. We see our role as enablers of these new ways of thinking and behaving. We challenge taken-for-granted assumptions and practices, and cultivate in managers an ability to draw from a full spectrum of disciplines and cultures.

We also understand that emerging economy business is confronted by a high degree of uncertainty, complexity, and often excessive situations of inequality. Such a world needs innovative solutions. We are therefore focusing our energies on becoming a leading business school in the paradigm of the emerging economy, both in our research and our teaching.

Through this concerted effort, the GSB aims to both raise the profile of emerging market business schools as centres of excellence and thought leadership, and provide students, both local and from all over the world, with the knowledge and skills to take on the challenges of this, the emerging market decade.

If you want to make a difference in business and society and you feel that this needs a more values-based, sustainable approach, then the UCT Graduate School of Business is the right place for you.

GSB programmes enable the development of managers and leaders at all levels. The School offers four core academic programmes (Associate in Management (AIM); Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PDBA); the MBA; and the Executive MBA) and a range of Executive Education short courses that cater for generalist and professional development needs. In addition, the Customised Academic Learning (CAL) and Executive Education units provide accredited academic learning or professional development programmes that can be tailored to the needs of specific clients.

All learning is offered either full time or on a modular basis so that if you are unable to relocate to Cape Town or cannot afford to take a year out of work you can still study at the GSB.

We look forward to welcoming you on a transformational journey to Full Colour Thinking.
