Application deadlines

This page contains links to all the necessary application procedures for each of the above listed programmes. There are a number of documents that are required.

Please read the GSB Application Information Sheet carefully before submitting your application.

Please note that all prospective applicants are required to complete the UCT Online Application for Admission in 2014 together with the GSB Application Information Document. In addition, all applicants are required to submit Motivation Answers and as well as TWO Evaluator’s Forms.


Test Requirements

All MBA applicants are required to write the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) and obtain an acceptable GMAT score. A GMAT score of 550 will ordinarily be required.

All EMBA applicants are required to either write GMAT.

Alternatively, EMBA applicants would be required to write TWO exams. The National Benchmark Test (NBT)  AND the Management Career Path Appreciation assessment(MCPA).

In addition to the above criteria all EMBA applicants will be required to take part in an interview and will be required to complete the Career Leader Self-Assessment. For more information please visit www.careerleader.com.

PDBA and AIM applicants are required to write the National Benchmark Test (NBT).

GSB applicants for the above programmes are only required to write the Academic and Quantitative Literacy (AQL) section of the NBT. The NBT fee is R110 for the AQL. The testing fee is non-refundable.

Payment Details

Proof of payment of the application fee must accompany your GSB application pack.

Company Sponsorship

If your company is sponsoring your studies, a Company Sponsorship Letter will be required.

This letter must include:

  1. Must be on a company letterhead
  2. Students' first name and surname must be noted
  3. Students’ ID. Number / UCT student number (if available) must be noted
  4. The programme of study must be noted
  5. Company must state that it is sponsoring the student
  6. The amount being sponsored must be clearly noted
  7. Payment date must be clearly noted and cannot be later than 1 June 2013
  8. The contact number of the person who is responsible for payment of the fees
  9. If possible a company Purchase Order should accompany the letter
